Homosassa State Wildlife Park

More pics on the 'Nature Coast' of Florida at the Homosassa State Wildlife Park, just down the road from my Mom's house.

A male Wood Duck in his spring mating colors:

Some 'gators sunning themselves:

This is 'Lucifer'. He is the only non-native species in the park. He is 49 years old. He is the oldest hippo known in captivity.

What a lovely area. I especially like the wood duck. They are supposed to be here in the north, but I've never seen one,... yet!

Wow Denise... Looks like your Mom lives in an incredible place there in Florida. I know you all enjoyed the trip south--to get some sunshine and enjoy warmer temps. I love your photos so far--and am looking forward to more of them.

Glad to have you blogging again. I've missed you.
Hugs,
Betsy
