Looks lonely when it's cloudy

In the front yard. The site of many parties with family and friends and beautiful sunsets in the summer... The adirondack chairs around the front fire pit await being covered with a tarp in preparation for the snow yet to fly.

In the back yard. Where the sun rises as I walk around with a hot cup of coffee to start the day in the spring and summer. Now, there is barely a sound except for a few birds and squirrels.

But, the whole place is alive when the sun is out...even in the winter.

I just love the setting w/ the adirondack chairs and the calm lake. Can you iceskate on that in the winter?

It's too rough for skating in the winter. Can you skate on your lake?

Denise, you and Shelley are SO lucky---to live in gorgeous log cabins on a lake... All you need out there in the summer is a hammock, a good book and some cold lemonade. NOW--all we have to do is to get through the WINTER first!!!!

Betsy, I am in complete agreement. Now I need to find that heated hammock for winter and I'll be all set! Come on up, we love to have company. Good food is on the menu!

So glad you could "sit a spell" on my brand new blog of 2 weeks!

I could sit a spell in those chairs by the lake...bet y'all really enjoy your time there. I'm sure you could tell from my blog, that I'm not "from" MI, so we do not have a place "up north" as y'all say. So many of my friends do.

We had snow and sun here today!
Feels like Christmas...
Take care...Shell

That's my kind of setting,... or/and sitting! I love living in the woods, and having water in front just ads to the setting. I noticed the window latches at your cabin. They are the exact same as those at our old family cabin. Brings a smile. Glad I found your blog!

Shell - your blog is beautiful. We've only had a dusting of snow so far.

Cedar - thanks for coming over! Indeed they are original window latches for those old breezy windows.

Beautiful setting. I'd need the sun to get me out there too.

Jen - not having any sun makes for a long day.
